When you have brought the fabric home, it is time to construct the pattern pieces. If you are making an outfit for yourself or someone, make sure to get the body measurements. Once you are in the final stages, put it on one more time and make the necessary adjustments. You or the person you are making it for could have lost or put on some weight.

This won’t be a problem of course if you are making a bag. You should just check if it can handle the weight as you don’t want this to rip open after using it for a short period of time.

Afterwards, give it to them or show it off. This new found hobby using do it yourself patterns could earn some money especially if people like what you’ve made. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes because this is also a learning experience.
